Hans Thoma (1839-1924)


The German realist painter Hans Thoma (1839-1924), born in the Black Forest, studied in Karlsruhe Academy. His landscapes and other works had an uneven success in several cities of his country, Paris and Italy.

Maternal bond by Jozef Israëls (1824-1911)


The bond between mother and child establishes itself as something natural. This emotional relationship is attributed to the parasympathetic activity of oxytocin, which is produced during the period of lactation. This substance is commonly known as “the hormone of love”.

Cassandra


Cassandra, the daughter of Priam, king of Troy, opposed the entry of the Horse in town. During the fire, Ajax of Locris attacked Cassandra while she was protecting the Palladium of Pallas Athena, of which she was a priestess.

Travels by Louis-François Cassas (1756-1827)


The painter Louis-François Cassas (1756-1827) traveled over Asia Minor, the Levant and Egypt between 1784 and 1786 starting from Constantinople. He was part of the group that followed count Choiseul-Gouffier during his visit to the Ottoman Empire. He wrote “A Picturesque Voyage”.

Nuremberg by Johann Adam Delsenbach (1687-1765)


The independent city of Nuremberg (kreisfrei Stadt Nürnberg) is located in the northern part of the state of Bavaria.  Its historic zone, destroyed during the Second World War, was rebuilt. In this area of ​​the town you can visit the “Albrecht Dürer Haus” and the churches of St. Sebaldus (Sebaldkirche) and St. Lawrence (Lorenzkirche).  Great parades and the trial of major Nazi leaders were held here.

A cidade independente de Nuremberga (kreisfrei Stadt Nürnberg) localiza-se no norte do Estado da Baviera. Encontra-se reconstruída a sua parte histórica destruída durante a II guerra mundial.
