Amazons (Amazonas)

The Amazons were female warriors in Greek mythology. Penthesilea is said to have participated in the Trojan War. The Belt of Hippolyte belongs to one of the twelve labors of Heracles (Hercules). Herodotus mentions the existence of amazons in Scythia and Samarco.


As Amazonas eram mulheres guerreiras na mitologia Grega. Pentiseleia teria participado na Guerra de Tróia. O cinturão de Hipólita pertence a um dos doze trabalhos de Héracles. Heródoto menciona existência de Amazonas na Cítia e na Samárcia.
