Italian volcanoes by Jacob Philipp Hackert (1737-1807)

The active volcanoes are located in mountainous conical areas near tectonic plates. Occasional and temporary eruptions consist in the expulsion of magma and gases. Jacob Philipp Hackert (1737-1807) painted the following Italian volcanoes: Vesuvius, Etna and Stromboli.
