“The song of the Nibelungs” gathers various Germanic legends based on historical and mythological facts. The manuscript was found in the Austrian town of Hohenems. It narrates Siegfried’s gest, the dragon hunter, in the court of the Burgundians where he was given the hand of Princess Kriemhild. Richard Wagner (1813-1883) used this theme to compose a set of four operas.

Narra a gesta de Sigfrido, caçador de dragões, na corte dos Burgundos onde obtém a mão da princesa Cremilde. Richard Wagner (1813-1883) serviu-se do tema para um conjunto de quatro óperas.
