Dutch kitchen in the 17th century

Cookery, with a minimum of refinement, began with the use of fire, the latter being also used for people’s heating. The kitchen, the room in the house used for food preparation, was the place where poor people got together to socialize and had their meals.

A culinária, com um mínimo de requinte, iniciou-se com a utilização do fogo. Este servia igualmente para aquecimento dos seres humanos. A cozinha, local da casa destinado à preparação da alimentação, foi local de convívio e refeições dos mais pobres.
