In 1808 the Emperor Napoleon I invaded Spain accompanied by the Light Cavalry Brigade led by the Polish prince Poniatowski. The action of this Brigade in the passage of the Sierra de Guadarrama (Somosierra) allowed him the access to Madrid.
No ano de 1808 o Imperador Napoleão I invadiu a Espanha acompanhado da Brigada de Cavalaria Ligeira Polaca dirigida pelo Príncipe Poniatowski. A acção desta última na passagem da serra de Guadarrama (Somosierra) permitiu-lhe o acesso a Madrid.
