Natureza morta (still life)

Género de pintura proveniente da Grécia antiga e muito empregado em Pompeia. Está relacionado com seres e objectos inanimados como jarros ou cestos de vidro, metal ou porcelana onde se colocam flores e frutos. Muito divulgado a partir do séc. XVI.

Painting genre from ancient Greece, widely used in Pompeii. It is related to inanimate beings and objects such as vases or baskets made of glass, metal or porcelain to dispose flowers and fruit. This genre has been widely used since 16th century.
