Socrates (469-399 BC)

Consideram-no sofista porque andava descalço e vivia pobremente. Platão (“Apologia” e “Criton”) descreve o envenenamento de Sócrates, pretensamente acusado de impiedade.T

He had three children from Xanthippe, but according to “Crito” abandoned them. Socrates was considered by Plato (“Apology”) (428-342 BC), and Xenophon of Athens (“Memorabilia”) (ca 430-354 BC), one of the founders of European philosophy. He was considered a sophist because he walked barefoot and lived poorly. Plato (“Apology” and “Crito”) describes Socrates’ poisoning, which is viewed as a condemnatory pretext for the philosopher’s impiety.
