Achilles at the court of king Lycomedes

This event is part of the post-Homeric legends (Publilius Statius; Acchileid). Tethys entrusted her son Achilles to the king Lycomedes, dressing him as a woman so that he couldn’t participate in the Trojan War. Ulysses (Odysseus), dressed as a merchant, identified him among the daughters of the king because Achilles had chosen a sword.

Este acontecimento integra-se nas lendas post-Homéricas (Publilius Statius; Acchileid). Tétis confiou ao rei Licomedes seu filho Aquiles vestido de mulher para não participar na Guerra de Tróia. Ulisses (Odisseus), vestido de mercador, identificou-o entre as filhas do rei, por ter escolhido uma espada.
