The Revolt of La Vendée - French Revolution
The Revolt of La Vendée during the French Revolution began in 1793 when a large group of peasants, artisans and bourgeois Catholic rebelled against the activity of revolutionaries in their persecution of the Catholic Church and monarchy. The repression by foreign armies led by Kléber caused 250,000 deaths.
A revolta da Vendeia durante a Revolução Francesa iniciou-se em 1793 quando numeroso grupo de camponeses, artesãos e burgueses católicos se insurgiram contra a atividade dos revolucionários na sua perseguição à Igreja Católica e monarquia. A repressão por parte de exércitos estrangeiros dirigidos por Kléber originou 250 mil mortos.
