Adolf Friedrich Erdmann von Menzel


The painter Adolf Friedrich Erdmann von Menzel (1815-1905) was born in the city of Breslau, in Silesia, now Wroclaw in Poland. He attended the Royal Academy of Arts in Berlin and later devoted himself to lithography. He accepted the task of illustrating the works of Goethe and Franz Kugler about Frederick II of Prussia.

O pintor Adolf Friedrich Erdmann von Menzel (1815-1905) nasceu na cidade de Breslau, na Silésia, atual Wroclaw da Polónia. Frequentou em Berlim a Real Academia de Artes. Dedicou-se à litografia. Aceitou a incumbência de ilustrar obras de Göethe e de Franz Kugler sobre Frederico II da Prússia.
