Feminine mythology - Pomona
In Roman mythology Pomona was considered the goddess of fruit and their respective trees. She was associated with abundance. Her attributes were a pruning knife and a sickle. Vertumnus, the god of shepherds, was forced to metamorphose himself to get close to his beloved one. (Ovid, Met. XIV, 623).
Na mitologia romana consideravam Pomona a deusa dos frutos e das árvores onde se criavam. Encontrava-se ligada à abundância. Tinha como atributos a faca de podar e a foice. Vertumno, deus dos pastores, viu-se obrigado a metamorfosear-se para se aproximar da sua apaixonada (Ovid; Met. XIV, 623).
