Guy Fawkes and the gunpowder plot

On November 5, 1605 the 'gunpowder plot' was discovered and Guy Fawkes was imprisoned in the Parliament subsoil in London. At the end of a week of torture, he confessed he had been the responsible for the explosion intended to kill King James I. The conspirators were hanged and quartered on January 31, 1606.

A 5 de novembro de 1605 descobriram a 'conspiração da pólvora' e aprisionaram Guy Fawkes no subsolo do Parlamento de Londres. Confessou, ao fim duma semana de tortura, ser o responsável pela explosão destinada a matar o rei Jaime I. Os conspiradores foram enforcados e esquartejados a 31 de janeiro de 1606.
