The Book of Genesis (XI, 27-28) indicates Abraham as Noah’s descendant. He must have been born in Ur, a city of Mesopotamia. After marrying Sarah he was mandated by God to abandon the region and follow towards Canaan. On the way he met the wise man Melchizedek. Sara, being sterile, allowed her husband to have a son with Hagar, an Egyptian slave. God ordered him to proceed with the circumcision of his son Ishmael and all the men. Ishmael set up in Arabia. Abraham appears in the Quran (Sura, 16, 120-123) with the designation of Ibraham.
No caminho conheceu o sábio Melquisedec.
