Australia by Thomas William Roberts


The Australian continent, discovered by the Portuguese navigators in the 16th century, joined the British colonies until it acquired the status of Commonwealth of Australia. Thomas William Roberts (1856-1931) showed in his paintings aspects of Australian history and the life of its inhabitants.

O Continente Australiano, descoberto pelos navegadores Portugueses no séc. XVI, integrou as colónias Britânicas até adquirir o estatuto de Commonwealth of Austrália. Nas suas pinturas mostrou Thomas William Roberts (1856-1931) aspetos da sua história e da vida dos seus habitantes.
