The fall of Icarus
Icarus flew from exile in Crete with Daedalus, his father. He got so excited by the thrill of the flight that he forgot his father’s recommendation not to get too close to the Sun. The heat caused the wings to detach from Icarus’s body, so he crashed into the sea and drowned.
Ícaro voou do exílio em Creta com Dédalo, seu pai. Entusiasmado com o voo, esqueceu a recomendação que este lhe fizera e aproximou-se demasiado do Sol. Com o calor as asas desprenderam-se do corpo, despenhou-se no mar e morreu afogado.
